The artist Ruth Andrews has restored the 2007 mural depicting the 1950 Fred Atkinson Chevy car dealership on the Cass County Building. The restoration project is funded by an anonymous donor and is expected to be completed soon.

Underground Railroad Historical Marker Mural

Vandalia, a town steeped in history, has a rich heritage as a stop on the Underground Railroad. Recognizing the importance of highlighting this landmark and honoring the journey of enslaved people, President Beverly Young commissioned a mural by Mural Makers of New Jersey. The mural, originally designed by local artist Diriki Mose, depicts Vandalia's role in the Underground Railroad.
